We believe you have value and worth, regardless of your faith, race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity).

You are welcome here.

Can I use my insurance?

As a service to our clients, ReStory Counseling has the ability to electronically submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. However, payment is due in full from you at the time of service, though you may receive a reimbursement check from your insurance company according to your coverage, co-pay, and deductible. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider about coverage. We are out-of-network for all companies.

We have also partnered with Mentaya to quickly and easily obtain reimbursement for out of network benefits. YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY CHECK HERE.

Additionally, insurance companies will only offer benefits for therapy with licensed professional counselors (LPC), and will not cover any other services provided at ReStory (i.e. spiritual counseling, support groups, etc.)

Do you take Medicaid?

At this time, we do not accept Medicaid for licensed counseling. And, per the requirements of Medicaid eligibility, we cannot accept clients for licensed counseling, even those wishing to pay out-of-pocket, who currently have Medicaid benefits. We would be happy to help you find a Medicaid provider, if you need licensed counseling within the state of Colorado.

If you are interested in any of our other services, you are able to pay out-of-pocket for those services without conflict with Medicaid regulations.

Do you have a Financial Assistance Program?

We have excellent options for financial assistance with our intern program and limited spots with others on our team! Prior to filling out this application, please start here for our intake process.

I’ve heard about your BIPOC Partial-Scholarship Fund…

If you identify as BIPOC [Black, Indigenous, Person of Color], we offer a partial-scholarship fund to offset the results of systemic oppression. This partial scholarship has been created and funded by the ReStory owners. To access this fund, please fill out the form above and choose BIPOC when prompted. At present, we have two BIPOC-identifying practitioners: Lynsey Crevier and Sherae Mulligan. You’ll be able to indicate your preference if you would like to work with them or ask for assistance if you would like to be placed with another practitioner.

Is this confidential? How will my privacy be protected?

100%. We take your right to privacy very seriously. It is this ironclad commitment to confidentiality that allows for this to be a safe and effective space for you to explore your pains and struggles. We are HIPAA regulated, and will protect you, your heart, and your identity.

There are only a few situations where we are allowed (actually mandated by law) to break confidentiality: if there is any indication of harm to yourself (suicidality) or harm to another (homicidality), or an indication of abuse to a minor or elder. And finally, we must surrender records if we receive a court order. Otherwise, Fort Knox.

As all of our therapists seek to provide the highest quality of care for our clients, we often consult with one another to seek insight, wisdom, and resources. Never is any identifying information shared, even amongst our own team.

What do you mean by “Storywork”?

We are committed to going deeper than simply symptom management and behavior change. We know you want relief, but we also know that true healing comes from addressing the driving narratives that lie below the surface. “Storywork” refers to this deeper dive, and we are leading experts in this work. LEARN MORE HERE.

What is the difference between a therapist and a storywork coach?

Therapists have completed Master’s level training in a counseling-related field, and are regulated by state licensing boards. Storywork Coaches have received certifications from Christian organizations and denominations qualifying them for this work.

All of our team members are trained in our ReStory Institute Level One and receive on-going development, consultation, and supervision. Therefore, there can be some overlap and similarity in their approach. However, therapists are further qualified in diagnosis of mental health disorders and medical field collaboration, and have received broader training in psychological health.

I’ve never been to counseling before. What can I expect?

First off... you are a bold and courageous soul. We commend you for stepping out and reclaiming your life. Well done!

Our goal is to make this process as comfortable and straight-forward as possible. This is hard and good work, and we know it can be challenging on many fronts. Therefore, we've created an office environment that is private, safe, comfortable and fun.

Is your office accessible?

At this time, our main office at 155 W. Harvard Street, Suite 401 is not accessible. Having been built in the 1980’s, the building does not have a ramp or elevator, and we are at the top of several stairs. However, we have agreements with other locations to utilize accessible office space should you require it. Please let us know when inquiring, and we will make the necessary arrangements to accommodate your needs.
